Mandu is in Dhar district. The area has always been rich in nature. Mandu was capital of the Parmar rulers of Malwa.
Each of Mandu's structures is an architectural gem. Many temples, palaces and ghats were constructed in Afghan architecture. The buildings in Mandu can be divided into three categories -the Royal enclave (a group of temples), the Village Group (residential area) and Rewa Kund Group (site of legendary romance).
